The Seoul Metropolitan Subway is one of the best subway systems in the world.

It is a heavily used rapid transit system that millions of Seoulites rely on every day.

There are nine subway lines that are each marked by colors and numbers.

The subway can take you practically anywhere in Seoul.

It also links the areas in the surrounding Gyeong-gi Province.

The busiest lines are line 1, 2 and 3.

The line number 2 in particular goes around in a circle.

Recently, platform screen doors were installed in many stations to enhance safety.

LCD monitors were also installed on trains to provide information.

The subway system in foreigner-friendly with English announcements.

First the announcement in Korean comes out, followed by English.
